Approximately 6'6" x 3'10" History of Kazak Style Rugs From the western area of the Caucasus populated by Armenian and nomadic Kurdish tribesmen, Kazak rugs are not from Kazakstan it's self but from the Armenian area. Kazak rugs, like many Caucasian designs, are dominated by highly stylized floral motifs. Kazak rugs are among the most interesting and exciting Caucasian village rugs. Famed for their rich colors, assertive, geometric drawing, and bold, large-scale designs, they are sought after by collectors for their rugged authenticity, they also make excellent accent rugs in a contemporary decorative settings. They are best known for their octagonal and graphic medallion compositions, with their thick pile, the beauty of the color and the lustrous quality of the wool really allows the powerful design of these charming rugs to shine through.
